Empowering parents with the confidence and tools they need to get better sleep

Empowering parents with the confidence and tools they need to get better sleep

While we spend an inordinate amount of time learning and preparing for birth – no one prepares you for what is going to come after!

No one ever told you that sleep was going to be this hard!

You want to do the right thing so you start reading everything you can get your hands on. But you soon discover that it’s not as easy as the books make it out to be.

Everyone is saying something different as to what the problem is or how to fix it - which just leaves you feeling more confused.

You reach out for help in a Facebook group, and you get:

  • “Don’t worry, it’s normal for them to always want to sleep on you. It’s just the 4th trimester” (which is rapidly turning into a 5th, 6th, 7th trimester at this rate)
  • “They are only little for a short period of time, so just enjoy it”
  • “Just try another feed. It’s almost always that they are hungry”
  • “You just have to toughen up and let them cry it out”

But none of what you are doing “feels” right.

Listening to your baby cry goes against all your instincts and so of course you respond but then when you pick them up, you feel guilty as people tell you it will create a bad habit and so you just feel stuck in a loop.

If this wasn’t enough, on top of all of this you are so tired and stressed that you can't think straight anymore!

The good news? You are not alone, and I can help!

Do you want better sleep and the confidence that you are not doing damage to your baby in the process?

The parents I see aren’t looking for help because they didn't try hard enough to follow the routine or because their baby was just a "bad" sleeper (there is no such thing!). Actually, it’s the opposite. Most have tried anything and everything!
But repeating what you know works in the short term is not a strategy. You need something more concrete. You need a PLAN! I will tell you the steps that you need to take so that you don't have to second guess yourself, particularly at 4am!

  • Eliminate the stress of bedtime
  • Feel empowered rather than exhausted
  • More aligned with your partner
  • Feel confident in your approach
  • Stop second guessing yourself
  • Feel more like yourself again
  • Raise happy, thriving kids

Hi! I'm Kate

I strongly believe that sleep is not a luxury and it's not selfish to want or need better sleep - it's a biological imperative to survive! I don't say this lightly!

I have spent my career researching sleep, with a PhD in sleep neurophysiology and then with several postdoctoral fellowships, one of which was in the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

I've worked with hundreds of families who believed that the only two options were either let them "cry it out" or wait it out - both of which are unhelpful as they just tap into your guilt that it's somehow your fault for getting into the situation in the first place (I mean it's just sleep - how hard can it be?!!!)

I want to change the way we look and think about sleep. I want to shift you from feeling anxious and overwhelmed to feeling competent and confident in developing and supporting healthy sleep skills so that you and your child can thrive and get the most out of life.

The ultimate guide to understanding why your baby won't sleep

Love notes from clients

Kate worked with us to achieve better sleep outcomes for our 10 month old. She tailored a plan that suited our family and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. She was knowledgeable and extremely supportive. We no longer have anxiety about bed time because we have a plan and have seen some very welcome changes in our baby’s sleeping patterns.

- Jessy

Kate was kind, warm and non-judgemental and was open to genuinely understanding what approaches we were comfortable with in supporting our goal of more sleep for our whole family. We saw change very quickly and felt the approach was gentle and sat well with our parenting values. We are all getting much more rest and are all happier!

I know you are feeling unsure, vulnerable and exhausted!

Change is scary and when you are overwhelmed the idea of somehow making it worse terrifies you.  BUT imagine how amazing it will feel when you are all getting a full nights sleep and you feel restored, renewed and like yourself again!
